My Star Treasure

Send me out among the stars
And ask me what my eye can see,
I'll read the names and faces of
The people cherished most by me.

In life they tell me what I earn
Will be my key to happiness.
From other worlds, I see so true
The things in life that really bless.

It's not that ladder, climbed on earth,
It's not the cash makes life worthwhile,
But gentle hearts who gave me love,
With music, verse, sweet words, a smile.

I count each one, like treasured gold
And place them at my rainbow's end
With never fear of losing them,
The ones I truly call my friend.

My life is full, my life's complete.
I've sailed on inspiration's skies
With cherished friends beside me there
Who filled my heart, my ears, my eyes.
