My heart's in the mountains, among the tall trees,
I could walk there for hours in the echoing breeze.
The aroma of cedar fills my soul with delight.
I smile at the flash of the chickadee's flight.
A scampering squirrel stops and pops up his head.
I pick up a pinecone, but then leave it instead.
This high peaceful place is a blessing to me.
Perhaps it's a glimpse of what heaven will be.
I can't get enough of the pines and the sky.
My heart's in the mountains. I'll show you why.
